Teaching Philosophy/Methodology I give my students a solid grounding in classical technique and tone production, while also developing their overall musicianship. I tailor my approach to each student’s abilities and musical interests. |

Education Bachelors of Music Education from Indiana University, Masters of Music in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, private studies with M. Dee Stewart, David Taylor, and Steve Turre.
Teaching Experience Has taught students of all ages and at all levels of experience (elementary school through college and beyond.) Has taught private students for many years, in addition to serving on the faculty at Hunter College.
Performances and Recordings Performances with David Murray, Max Roach, Allan Harris, Juan Carlos Formell, Raulin Rosendo, Los Mas Valientes, the Toasters, New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, Metropolitan Klezmer, Joe Gallant and Illuminati, Tabou Combo, among others. He has performed throughout North America, Europe, and Latin America, including appearances at the North Sea Jazz Festival (Netherlands) and the Montreal Jazz Festival. His 1999 CD Waiting for the Rain received positive reviews in Cadence, Jazz Now, and New York Press. He has also recorded with Los Mas Valientes, Juan Carlos Formell, the Toasters, the New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, Metropolitan Klezmer, Dave Santiago and Latin Affair, and many others.
